Mailing something to an international destination? We offer International mailing services as well. When you send it from The UPS Store®, you don't need to worry about filling out customs paperwork. Our staff will generate the forms for you, all you have to do is sign!

DHLAt The UPS Store in Mayfield Hts, along with offering UPS® and USPS shipping options we also offer DHL International shipping. DHL's international network links more than 220 countries and territories worldwide, which means that we can get your package just about anywhere around the world.

 

Customs Paperwork


Certified-Mail-with-Return-Receipt.jpgWhen shipping internationally (via DHL or another carrier) it is essential that the customs invoice is filled out completely and correctly. When you come in to ship your package, our staff will ask you what is in your package as well as what the value of the item is and how many are in the package. If you have a large number of items in your package we suggest making a list of the items and their quantities as you are packing the box. This will help us quickly generate an accurate customs invoice for you.

All countries have rules regarding what can be shipped into their country. To help ensure that your package clears customs in a timely manner please make sure that it does not include any commodities that are restricted or prohibited by UPS (or other chosen carrier), or by the country's regulations. This is another reason that we ask you to provide us with a detailed description of the contents or your shipment. Our shipping experts can help you verify that your shipment doesn't contain an item that is restricted or prohibited.

Please note, packages that are sent to foreign countries may be subject to additional fees, duties and taxes that the recipient will need to pay before the package is delivered. Since these fees, duties and taxes are assessed as the package passes through customs in the destination country by the government of that country we are not able to determine what those charges will be when the package is shipped. Even if the package qualifies for a gift exemption the recipient may still be required to pay some fees since the gift exemption only covers taxes.

Looking for an estimate on how much it will cost to ship your items or packages? We can provide you with a quote.

In order to provide you with a quote we will need some information from you. The more accurate the information you provide us with the more accurate the quote will be.


Here's what we'll need:
 

  • The dimensions of the item or package. Please make sure to tell us whether your item is already boxed and ready to ship or if it still needs to be packed up. If you have multiple items that need to be packed that are going to the same location we suggest that you come into the store for a quote so that we can assess how best to pack your items.
  • The weight (in pounds) of the item or package.
  • The zip code of the destination.
  • The type of address that the shipment is going to (residential or commercial). If the shipment is going to a P.O. Box please let us know that as well since there are limited shipping options when the shipment goes to a P.O. Box.
  • How soon the item or package needs to arrive at it's destination.
  • The value of the contents of the shipment. By providing us with the value we can provide you with a quote that includes value coverage.

If you are looking for a quote on an international shipment we suggest that you stop into the store with the package(s) or item(s). Even slight differences in size or weight can make a big difference in pricing for international shipments. There are also a wide variety of shipping options for international shipments which make it difficult to discuss your options over the phone.

 

Package delivery your way

 
 
Call-in-MailCheck.jpgIf you can't be there to sign for your incoming package, you can go online and authorize UPS® to release it and leave it at your doorstep. You also have the option to reroute it to another address (like our The UPS Store® location), where you can pick it up when it's most convenient for you.

If you know ahead of time that you won't be home to receive your package and you don't want it just left at your doorstep have it delivered to The UPS Store®. We will sign for your packages and keep them safe until you stop by to pick the up. If you have a mailbox at our location, package receiving is included at no extra charge and packages are held indefinitely. If you do not have a mailbox, package receiving is $5 per package and packages are held for 7 calendar days.

Once your package is in transit, you can still have it delivered to The UPS Store® with UPS Access Point®. At UPS.com you can sign up for the UPS Access Point Service and choose where you would like your package redirected, Access Point packages are held at the store for 7 calendar days.
